The Hasselblad 500C/M added to my Camera Collection....
The Hasselblad 500C/M
ONE OF THE MOST ICONIC CAMERAS IN PHOTOGRAPHIC HISTORY….
I am a Canon lover, always have been and always will be but my all time dream medium format camera has always been the Hasselblad. One of the iconic cameras in photographic history. This camera I saw when I was in my early twenties working in the modeling industry. I was mesmerized by it….
The design and sturdy build of the Hasselblad 500C/M dates back to 1957. The first camera to document space, when astronaut Walter Schirra took it with him on the Mercy rocket in 1962.
The list of iconic Hasselblad images is endless, spanning from The Beatles crossing Abbey Road to the iconic portraits of Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones and several celebrities of Hollywoods golden era such as Audrey Hepburn, James Dean and Elizabeth Taylor. My all time favourite photographer Ansel Adams shoot the Moon and Half Dome image with the Hasselblad 500C.
My dream came true when I spotted this camera at the camera and image collectors society camera market in Sydney. I was blown away and still am with the beauty of this iconic camera…..
